The Finnish Sauna

When Antti and I met, I was just getting started doing basements full time. He is to this day the most particular client I have ever head. I learned a lot from Antti. He was a brilliant engineer, and held a standard that was inspiring to me.

When he spoke about the sauna’s in Finland and their therapeutic nature, and beautiful qualities, I was very interested. Did you know that there is 1 sauna per every 2 people in Finland?

I told him that he should take the lead regarding the order and manner in which the sauna was built, but I will build it piece for piece myself.

In the end this project was the greatest teacher I have had regarding basement building. I believe the universe put us together to build it, and I am forever grateful for my Finnish friend and our time working together.
